Zakk Powell's journey at Pro - Pro Global

Zakk Powell's journey at Pro

What do you do in your role?

I have been working with Pro since October 2016 and in that time I have held multiple positions, starting as an Assistant Technician and working my way up to a Team Manager developing my skillsets and knowledge base. I have worked as an extension of teams for Lloyd’s Syndicates, London Market (Re)Insurers, Brokers and MGA’s on a wide range of functions including; Policy Administration, Accounts Receivable, Premium Closings, Credit Control and Management Functions providing meaningful MI to clients to provide the peace of mind that their outsourced work is being completed to a top standard.

As of May 2023 I have been working with Pro MGA as an Account Manager. I currently work with budding MGA’s and provide them with guidance and support to evolve their ideas into reality. We also provide our existing clients with regulatory oversight to ensure that their company remains compliant with all FCA regulations. Managing Stakeholder relationships and having a keen eye for attention to detail are key to someone in my role.

Why would someone want to work in your team?

The Pro MGA Team is a small but closely linked team whereby everyone has a shared common goal of ensuring our Appointed Representatives shine. There is constant close communication between Account Managers, the Compliance Team and the Executive Team to ensure operations are running smoothly and if any issues arise, the team is well placed to deal with these.

How has Pro helped you develop your career?

As a company, Pro have been extremely supportive on my career journey thus far. I joined Pro in October 2016 as an Assistant Technician and since my beginnings I have transferred across multiple differing teams to increase my skill-base and knowledge within the Insurance Industry. Pro have never shyed away from helping my develop my knowledge through sponsoring my Diploma-Level qualifications with both the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

What would you tell a candidate to make them consider joining Pro?

There are multiple additional benefits working for Pro including, probably most importantly, friendly and supportive colleagues. This is a great company to begin and develop your career, I have enjoyed my time at Pro, and I am looking forward to continuing developing my career further here.
