My first role within Pro was an Assistant Technician within the Underwriting Support section of Insurance Services and I was tasked with Risk Capture for a Lloyd’s Syndicate. This role mainly consisted of reviewing Market Reform Contracts and Endorsements for specific sets of data and then recording this into our client’s bespoke system. I was also tasked with quality checking other team members work to ensure that our right first-time statistics were consistently maintained above the 95% set out in our Service Level Agreements.
Since December 2020 I have been leading a team within the Technical Accounting section of Insurance Services working alongside a London Based Broker and my current role includes leading a team to achieve high results on a multitude of different functions, including; Premium Processing, Closings, Accounts Receivables and Credit Control. I also liaise with our client via email, phone calls or face-to-face in their London Office to ensure that all Service Level Agreements and legislations are adhered to and discuss where improvements to processes can be made and how these can be implemented to ensure smooth business operations.
My team is a tight knit unit and extremely hard-working, all team members are aware of their shared common goal and can rely on each-other for assistance whenever required.
As a company, Pro have been extremely supportive on my career journey thus far. I joined Pro in October 2016 as an Assistant Technician and since my beginnings I have transferred across multiple differing teams to increase my skill-base and knowledge within the Insurance Industry. In May 2022 I was promoted to a Team Manager as a result of my continuing successes, development and contract wins. Pro have also supported my career by sponsoring my journey to achieving a Diploma with the Chartered Insurance Institute and more recently, they are sponsoring me to complete a Diploma with the Chartered Management Institute.
There are multiple additional benefits working for Pro, including friendly and supportive colleagues. This is a great company to begin your career, I have enjoyed my time at Pro, and I am looking forward to continuing developing my career further here.
Treasury Assistant – Accounts Payable.
My role within the treasury team is in the accounts payable department. I am responsible for receiving and logging invoices, forwarding them to the respective budget managers for approval and finally reconciling and making the payments.
I received a call from the recruitment team as he had seen my CV on one of the job search websites and asked if I would like to attend an interview. Pro was, at the time looking for someone to join their treasury team and my experience matched their search criteria. On arriving at Pro for the interview, I was immediately made to feel both comfortable and welcome. I met with my manager and one of my work colleagues and we just ‘clicked’. I knew immediately that I would enjoy working for Pro.
Honestly, there is not one thing that I dislike about my job and it is difficult to pick just one thing that I love. To generalise though I think I’m extremely fortunate to work with an awesome team of people who get on exceptionally well and who work together with a common goal of making sure that the needs of our clients are met and that they are always put first.
My team is interesting to say the least, but we are each so different not only in personality but because of our diverse backgrounds. Within my team we can speak 6 different languages fluently. British English, South African English, Afrikaans, German, Polish and Italian. Believe me, the two English languages though very similar, are vastly different. You can often hear talk of robots and traffic lights, traffic circles and roundabouts, takkies and trainers. All joking aside though, we all work with a common goal, we are one team, who constantly help, support and encourage each other.
As part of my job I cover annual, sick and study leave within the team, I have therefore done a lot of cross training in different areas within the finance team on both the client and corporate side. This has resulted in me gaining more knowledge and experience. Further to this I am sure there will be a few courses on the horizon as Pro are dedicated to helping advance, educate, develop and motivate their staff.
There is so much development and career advancement potential at Pro and the company has a genuine and vested interest in their employees. Not only do they encourage learning and education, but there are so many mentors, people who are knowledgeable and experts in their fields available to assist and guide you along your career path. Pro also has excellent benefits, a great pension scheme, private healthcare and life insurance. I would recommend Pro as an employer of choice to anyone. Who wouldn’t want to work for a professional company with great values and fantastic people. I am as excited to work for Pro today as I was the first day I walked through the door.
I am a Technical Analyst Team Leader. My main priorities are managing my team and managing the workloads we receive. I also ensure that all work received is completed within the clients SLA’s.
I was recommended by people who already worked at Pro and enjoy it.
I love working in a team and being challenged on a daily basis.
Pro have always been keen to help me progress. They have given be the tools I have needed to do so, such as my CII exams along with courses to help me understand the London market better.
You need ensure you are good at time keeping and work well in a team. You also need to make sure you are accurate and precise always.
I joined Pro in October 2014 as a data administrator in the Underwriting Support department. My role was to receive, cleanse and process data from an excel spreadsheet into a client system in respect of insurers. Whilst processing these accounts we had to geocode the address information using google maps. In September 2016 I was given the opportunity to go to London to understand a new clients process and bring this function back to be administered by a team in Gloucester. Although this was a daunting thought at first, it turned into a new and exciting opportunity. In July 2017 I got promoted to a team leader role, my role now includes looking after the team’s day to day needs; allocating work, helping with queries and authorising holiday requests and timesheets. Another aspect of my role is to organise a weekly teleconference meeting with the client to discuss any issues that may arise. I liaise daily with the clients London based staff via phone, email or skype messaging, to ensure Pro are providing a first-class service.
I feel someone would enjoy working in my team as we are sociable, caring and hardworking. All members of the team understand the importance of helping each other and working towards a common goal. For example, if someone has a heavy workload, you can always rely on the other team members to give a helping hand.
Pro has helped me develop my career by providing opportunities for training and providing me with the tools needed to work towards my industry recognised qualifications.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Pro and look forward to further extending my knowledge working here.
I am the Operations Leader for Underwriting Services. Within Underwriting Services we have around 120 people that provide data entry, policy administration and data cleansing services to 20 insurance and reinsurance companies that operate within Lloyds of London and the London Insurance Market. My role is to work with my Team Managers to ensure client services are delivered on time and to agreed quality standards, work with new clients to plan and onboard new services, regularly meet with existing clients to discuss service performance and to support the wider team with recruitment and personal and career development planning and opportunities.
Within Pro and Underwriting Services we provide a challenging and supportive environment designed to deliver a quality service to our clients and provide you, our people, with a challenging, varied and rewarding career. Post Covid we are in the process of relaunching our Sports & Social committee which organises many events throughout the year designed to bring our people together, to have fun and socialise which helps to reinforce our ethos, in work and in play, of being a part of the “Pro family”.
I have been with pro for 25 years and have enjoyed a varied career. Within my time here Pro has supported my development through academic study and several personal development courses. As importantly for my personal and career development I have worked with a succession of supportive and selfless line managers that have recognised my desire to build a career and provided me with opportunities to test and prove myself in new and challenging roles – both technical and team management. During my time at Pro I have been fortunate to meet many colleagues from around our global offices and have had the pleasure of travelling many times with work to the USA, India, Bermuda, Germany, France, Hungary and many cities around the UK.
If you are interested in developing a varied set of skills within a financial services career then Pro will support and encourage you on your journey. There are diverse technical and people management opportunities throughout the company. While Underwriting Services provides so much variety (2,000 different processes within multiple disciplines across 20 clients) it often acts as a launch pad for our people to explore roles elsewhere within Pro such as Project Management, Consultancy, Finance and Claims. We pride ourselves on our “Pro Family” ethos and look forward to welcoming you to the team during an exciting time of continued growth and development for Pro.
As
Head of Operational Performance, I am accountable for driving and measuring
operational metrics including gross margin, utilisation and ultimately P&L
profitability. Working across all of Pro, I often work closely with our Heads
of Verticals, Operations managers, and Executive team to strategise operational
challenges, drive consistency in operational processes and initiate business
projects to gain efficiencies.
The diverse nature of operational
challenges, meeting client needs and exploiting new technologies allows me to
constantly deepen my knowledge and understanding of both technical Insurance
and Operational delivery. I also enjoy
collaborating with lots of different people across the business, sometimes in
different countries which gives me many different perspectives. Working in
organisational change means no two days are the same, which I love.
I started my career in Pro as a business analyst, exploring the use of robotics in Insurance. Since then, with the help of experts within Pro, my career has gone from strength to strength. I believe the collaborative culture and exposure to a variety of complex business challenges has enabled me to hone critical thinking alongside technical Insurance knowledge.
Furthermore, the business invests in their staff through supporting various courses and professional study which I have used to further broaden my knowledge.
If you are looking for a challenge, are passionate about change and want to work with some great people then Pro is the place to be!
