Pro Legal Strengthens Team with Appointment of Darren Goldthorpe as Legal Director – Legacy

Darren will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of Pro Legal’s legacy offering, working closely with insurers, MGAs and stakeholders to provide strategic legal support across complex run-off portfolios. Subsequently, he will play a key role in enhancing Pro Legal’s proposition in legacy claims management, dispute resolution and portfolio optimisation, as well as supporting clients in navigating regulatory and operational challenges within the evolving insurance landscape.

In his new role, Darren will report to Jonathan Richards, Pro Legal’s Managing Director.

Darren brings more than two decades of legal and insurance industry expertise to the role. He joins from law firm, Kennedys LLP, where he was a Partner specialising in complex disease and illness claims. Throughout his career, he has developed deep expertise in occupational disease and technical claims strategy. Darren is particularly recognised for his work in noise-induced hearing loss claims and for developing innovative technology and data-driven solutions to improve claims outcomes and effectively reduce costs for insurers.

Prior to this, Darren held senior roles at firms including DAC Beachcroft and BC Legal, where he helped build and lead high-performing teams and worked closely with insurer clients on complex and high-volume claims portfolios. Moreover, he has also been recognised in industry directories for his specialism and longstanding contribution to the insurance legal sector.,

Darren’s appointment reflects Pro Legal’s continued investment in senior talent to support the growing demand for specialist legacy and run-off services across the market.
